Anchor Moment Construction

n editing approach where the editor first identifies the single most crucial moment, beat, or performance in a scene and builds the rest of the scene around it. As described by Stephen Mirrione, "This moment is the anchor of this scene. So I’ll build the scene around it." Similarly, Jan Kovac identifies key "lean forward moments" and builds the scene to either culminate on that beat or move from it to a crescendo.
