cloud-based production workflow where camera footage is automatically uploaded from set to a cloud platform during or immediately after capture, making proxies available to editorial, producers, and other stakeholders in near-real-time. Pioneered by Frame.io's Camera to Cloud integration, this approach collapses the traditional delay between shooting and editorial ingest. The camera or an on-set device generates lightweight proxy files and uploads them over a network connection while full-resolution originals are simultaneously backed up to on-set drives. Editors can begin cutting with proxies minutes after a take is shot, rather than waiting for physical media shipment or end-of-day transfers. The workflow requires careful proxy naming and timecode preservation to ensure seamless conforming to original camera files later.
