Editing with Audio Stems

he practice of using separated instrumental tracks (stems) from a piece of music to gain granular control over the audio landscape. This allows an editor to selectively remove or introduce elements like drums, bass, or melody to enhance narrative beats, smooth transitions, or avoid clashing with dialogue. It transforms a single piece of stock music into a flexible scoring toolkit.
