Frame Sampling

method of time remapping where software changes a clip's speed or conforms it to a new frame rate by either duplicating or discarding whole frames. Unlike frame blending or optical flow, frame sampling does not create new, interpolated frames. It is the most computationally simple but least smooth method of retiming, often resulting in a stuttering or strobing effect when used for significant speed changes.
