Ideology in Enunciation

he principle that a film's ideology is conveyed not just through its overt content (story, dialogue) but is embedded in its very form and structure—the 'enunciation' or 'how' it is told. The choice of what to show, when to cut, the rhythm of the edits, and the visibility of the editing process itself are all rhetorical acts that shape the viewer's understanding. Soviet montage made this process explicit and aggressive, while classical cinema often uses form to naturalize and conceal its ideological position.
