Intentional Sync Disruption

n editing technique that intentionally jumbles the temporal relationship between picture and sound, often by cutting dialogue or actions out of sync and then allowing them to catch up. This can be used to create a sense of cacophony, chaos, or a character's frantic internal state. By breaking from a systematic, linear presentation, the editor can transform a mundane sequence into a more impressionistic and emotionally charged montage.
