Redundant Scene Elimination
he process of identifying and removing scenes that, while potentially well-written, acted, or shot, are ultimately unnecessary for the film's narrative or emotional progression. This often happens when a story point or character trait is established in multiple scenes, and the most effective one is retained while others are cut to improve macro-pacing. As editor Mary Jo Markey states, "if you can live without them, you probably should."
