Deliverables
also: delivery specs · final deliverables · output specs
he final output files created at the end of the post-production pipeline, formatted to meet the specific technical requirements of each distribution platform or client. Deliverables encompass a wide range of formats and specifications: theatrical DCPs (Digital Cinema Packages), broadcast masters meeting QC standards, streaming-optimized files (often H.264/H.265 at specific bitrates), archival masters (typically ProRes 4444 or uncompressed), and textless versions for international distribution. Each deliverable has precise requirements for codec, resolution, frame rate, color space, audio layout (stems, mix formats like 5.1/7.1/Atmos), and metadata. The delivery phase is where every upstream decision—from camera settings to color grade—converges into the final product. Deliverables also include in-progress materials created during post-production, such as daily stringouts for production review, which are crucial for maintaining communication and alignment between the set and the edit suite.
