Light Pen Editing Interface

n early human-computer interaction method used in pioneering NLEs like the CMX 600, where the editor used a light-sensitive wand to directly interact with elements on a CRT screen. This allowed for a direct, albeit primitive, form of graphical manipulation, enabling editors to select clips, mark in/out points, and arrange sequences without typing complex commands. It was a crucial intermediate step between the command-line interface and the modern mouse-driven GUI.
