Offline Editing
ffline editing is a workflow that separates the creative editing process from the final, high-quality finishing (online) stage. Editors work with lower-resolution copies (proxies) of the original footage, allowing for faster, more flexible experimentation without risking the master assets. The result of the offline edit is an Edit Decision List (EDL) that serves as a blueprint for conforming the high-resolution original material.
